The game skipped an E3 showing last year, with Griffin himself dropping the news on the game’s official Discord. Xbox stated last year that Silksong would launch before June 12 this year, which was pretty much confirmation of a 2023 release. Hollow Knight: Silksong could be shown off this week during the Summer Game Fest. Since that was announced in 2019, it has only been 3 years since they started development on the game. Silksong has been in development for what feels like an eternity, and combined with a lack of updates from developer Team Cherry, any morsel of official news sends the fanbase into overdrive. As some might know, Silksong was originally going to be a DLC for Hollow Knight, later on it was announced to be the sequel to Hollow Knight, no longer a DLC. When it comes to highly-anticipated game releases, there aren't many fans out there as ravenous as Hollow Knight players. ![]()
